Sarahawks Under 9 - Gold v Peninsular Swans Round One

posted May 9, 2015, 9:01 PM by Auskick SaraHawks
Go SaraHawks under 9's. Today was the 1st game any of the kids had played together as a team in the under 9 format. I was so impressed at how they shared the ball with handballs and kicks to their team mates. They even started running into space.

Spencer's handball to JJ led to an early goal and was awesome team work. Arian was on top of everything, Connor was like a tackling machine and Liam kicked several times straight onto the chest of Macka and others when in the backs.

Deano scored a number of goals when at full forward and Ryan was attacking the ball as well as anyone. JJ's pass to Macka and Macka's Buddy like goal was great passage at the end. Overall I was super impressed at the Sarahawks running game and their commitment to getting back into position after each run. Well done kids.

Player of the week - JJ was everywhere as he kept on running, running and running.

Overall a great game and a big thanks to the Peninsula Swans. I want to add a massive thankyou to Julie, Charli, Suzie, Phil and Umpire Sam. Julie kindly "offered" to work with Charli in the canteen. This effort paid for the umpire. Suzie took some wonderful photos and Phil (el president) was timer. Sam ran a fast a fair game - well done mate.

We will keep working on kicking, marking and hand balling this week as we focus on following through after passing - ready for the next passage of play. I cannot wait to see them to display this more consistently as I saw this a few times today and they looked like pros. Really proud of you guys on Week One!
