Sarahawks Under 11 v Terrigal Avoca

It was a cracker of day as we prepared for a biggest test this year against the top team in Terrigal Avoca @ Adcock Park.At first the boys were nervous and a little negative about facing the top team, but as the game progressed in the first half of the match, we contested hard for the ball and we could all see their confidence increase and some great tackles by Cohen, Ben, Callum D, and using their body strength it placed pressure on our opposition.

With some key players missing we struggled to contain the forward movement from Terrigal Avoca on many occasions and they were able to kick several easy goals. We hung in there and Alec managed to kick a couple of goals to keep our opposition on edge.

Luke / Aidan / Rohan battled hard to keep the ball in our forward line during the first 2 quarters.

Third quarter we busted out of the blocks with Ben in the ruck, tapped down and with some great teamwork in the forward line we kicked a goal within the first minute to keep the pressure on, but from there the game slipped away from us. A credit to the team that they never game up ( in true Sara Spirit) and eventually going down 4.4.28 to 14.11.95

A little more self - belief in the team from the first bounce, improved communication on the field will see the U11’s striving to reach our goal of playing finals footy by seasons end.
