Sara Hawks Under 9 Gold v Swans - Last game Season 2015

Well that’s it folks. The Last game of the season was played today at Rogers park against the Peninsular Swans.Although outnumbered our kids skill and team work came through proving to be the difference in a great game. Everyone stepped up today attacking the loose ball, winning contested marks and I was really impressed with the use of the handball that directly lead to at least 7 of our goals. Training paying off!

JJ lead the pack as captain and really showed leadership by example on the field – easily his best game and so, so close to the player of the day, Deano took a massive mark in forwards and Connor was getting into thick of it in the ruck. Arian was putting his body on the line throughout the game and Ben was brilliant in the centres tearing holes in the defense. Mackenzie has matured heaps as a player and is starting to show some real class on the field - I saw goals, handballs and selfless centering kicks setting up team mates. Macka great game!

Coaches award goes to Liam today, he looked me in the eye during the game and said I promised nana I’d kick her a goal and promptly did so, not once, but twice for good measure.

A special mention is of Spencer. With a broken arm preventing him from playing the last few weeks, he has still wanted to come to every training session and every game, cheering on the kids from the side line. Mate you make me one very proud dad.

Huge thanks to all the parents for your help this year from training, ground set up, goal umpiring, 1st aid, kid mediation and the canteen. Half of you even drove back to Sara to cheer the U11's on to victory and a finals birth (Go Sara Hawks U11's)!

We could not have a club without your help!

What a team, what a year and what a way to finish off! Well done Sara Hawks Gold!
