Sara Hawks Under 11's verses Entrance/Bateau Bay

Post date: May 25, 2014 6:9:42 AM

We had a number of u9 players help us out today, which meant we only required 2 loan players from the opposition. The match was played with good spirit from both teams & it was a very competitive, flowing game with minimal stoppages from the umpires whistle. This all added to it being thoroughly enjoying viewing for the coaches & supporting families. We are so very proud of the Hawks effort today, the boys confidence had been dented in recent weeks against older, taller & skillful sides, so today's aim was not about the scoreboard, but about competing in every facet of play from the opening siren until full-time.And wow, how the boys delivered!! Their effort was outstanding - particularly their teamwork & aggression in defense, this had been missing in recent rounds, particularly in the 1st half of their games. So it was so pleasing to see the boys come up with a performance like they did today, it should do wonders for their confidence & belief.

And in the end the scoreboard took care of itself, as we ended with a strong 6.6.42 to 2.3.15 win.

To emphasize the team performance, we had 5 players kick majors today, which was fantastic to see.

Given how well every team member played, without doubt this was toughest week to hand out the weekly awards with so many deserving.

But in the end William Y received the Coach's Award & Aaron B the Player of The Week Award.

Congratulations u11s.... you made your coach & supporting families very proud!
