Muddy Sunday - Sarahawks Gold v Killarney Vale Black

Post date: May 24, 2015 10:40:24 PM

Sarahawks Gold were off to Killarney Vale this week to play against the bombers. With two fairly even sides the game was fast paced and the ball moved from end to end quickly. At the start of the game we talked about the importance of everyone moving for the duration of the game, running into space, touching the ball on the ground instead of bouncing and kicking/ handballing to teammates.

I was super impressed that the kids listened and focussed on these things throughout the match. Arian, Ben and JJ were running all day, with Spencer, Connor, Deano and Liam sharing the load throughout various quarters of the game.

Although close again, the coaches award this week goes to Mackenzie. He bagged a couple of Buddy like goals and at one point I saw him touch the ball on the ground as he sprinted up the field offloading to his team mates up the field. Really well played Macka and all the gold team!

The kids excelled in the mud and it was obvious that they we were not afraid to get in and get the ball. This week we will continue work on movement, space and taking the ball on the run.

See you all Thursday at training and go the mighty Hawks!
