FINALS HERE WE COME! Well done Sara Hawks U11

Well, once again under sunny skies down at Saratoga Oval.Today’s game had a finals berth on the line as the 7th placed Sara Hawks were up against Killarney Vale Red in 6th position.

The team had trained so well during the week & it was time for the U11’s to step up & believe they can all compete and play as a team and to a very happy and excited coaching staff & supporters the U11’s played to their full potential and came away with an outstanding win (by the 60 point mercy rule) to make it into their 2nd finals series in a row.

From the first bounce the teamwork displayed was outstanding, which resulted in several opening quarter goals whilst our back line remained committed to the ball and did an amazing job to limit the Killarney Vale scoring opportunities.

The 2nd and 3rd Quarters we placed even more tackling pressure, great hand balling, sheppard’s against our opponents and were able to turn the ball over many times to our advantage and I think for the first time this year we kept the opposition scoreless in the 3rd quarter.

We had so many outstanding plays with the stand-out being : A kick out at full back all the way to full forward to score a goal without the opposition touching it.

Special mention to Issac Gale for kicking 4 fabulous goals (hope the Gatorade tasted great) and to Cal Draper for a great overhead mark.

It was such a great team effort by all today and this is what makes coaching such a delight.
