Finals Chances Stay Alive - Under 11's bounce back

Post date: Aug 03, 2014 11:17:59 PM

Today our u11's were away to Northern Lakes @ San Remo.

There was no need to loan or borrow players & the match was played in lovely winter sun.

Both teams went to the break locked at 1 goal apiece.

However in the 2nd quarter, the Saratoga Hawks upped the tempo via 4 goals & 4 behinds to take a handy lead into the main break.

Northern Lakes stemmed the tide a little in the 3rd term, then our boys kicked away again in the 4th qtr to record a resounding win.

It was very pleasing to see our group bounce back from a disappointing performance last week at home & very timely as today's win keeps our semi final hopes alive.

There was some great flowing footy played by our boys with some goals coming from impressive teamwork. Coach Leigh was most pleased with the effort, as were our supportive families.

The final score was Saratoga Hawks 11-10-76 bt Northern Lakes 3-1-19.

Player of the Week was Aidan F. who answered the challenge put to him that he needed to lead by example today.

Matthew S. received the Coach's Award for showing some aggression with very handy shepparding, tackling & a nice goal.

Well done to all players, as this was a terrific team performance.
